The 1,170-square-kilometerDoiLuangNational Parkis located in Phan District which is on the south of the Chiang Rai’s municipality. The national park is covered in lush forest featuring the natural caves and some waterfalls with the most stunning and largest one being the nine-tier Pu Kaeng Waterfall that flows all year long onto the limestone rocks. It offers a number of walking trails for adventurous travelers. To visit there, drive along the Chiang Rai-Phayao Route for about 58 kilometers and you’ll reach Ban Pu Kaeng then take a right at the Km. 77 and continue for about 9 kilometers. This waterfall is a haven for those who want to trekking or camping out in this unspoiled forest.

How to get there :
To get there take the Chiang Rai – Phayao route for 58 km. to get to Ban Pu Kaeng. At km 773 turn right and go on for 9 km. to the national park office. One interesting tourist attraction there is Namtok Pu Kaeng, a beautifully big waterfall in Chiang Rai. It has 9 tiers containing lots of stalagmites and stalactites.
