Amphoe Mueang, Sakon Nakhon
Category : Other nature sites
Attraction Details :
Kong Ping Ngu is a curved road which looks like a snake. On the way is a giant milestone which can be seen clearly. There are many waterfalls surrounding this area such as Hew Sin Chai waterfall, Sam Lan waterfall and Sao Hai waterfall.
Kong Ping Ngu is a road uphill which is not only used as a transportation route from Sakon Nakhon to
other provinces, but also a place to exercise and ride bicycles. The atmosphere up here is very cool.
Kong Ping Ngu is another place in Sakon Nakhon province. It refers to one curvy road which looks like a grilled snake. Normally, you must go past this route on the way to Sakon Nakhon or from Sakon Nakhon to other provinces. However, people do not normally stop here since the road is very curvy and slant. Another reason is if you want to see
Kong Ping Ngu clearly, you should see it from the high place. If you travel from Sakon Nakhon or from Phu Phan royal palace, there is a sign on your left-handed side. The sign indicates Ratchamangkla Phisek park.
The milestone of Kong Ping Ngu indicates the distances from the area to other provinces such as Kalasin, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Ratchasima, Bangkok, Trad and Nara Thiwat provinces. According to the milestone building standard of Department of Highways, this may be the biggest milestone.
There is also a nature study route since the parking lot is not far away from Phu Phan royal palace.
Moreover, the forest is still fertile so there are a lot of birds. Many conservationists always study this route.
From this route to Kam Hom waterfall,it is only 200 meters. However, it is recommended to visit the waterfall during rainy season since there will be abundant of water.
